CDN is basically a network of servers which replicate binary files so that they can be served from the geographically shut locations. Cloud computing is a much recent concept as compared to CDN. CDN refers to the content delivery network. It encompasses distributed servers, which dispense webpages and other kind of Web content to a user on basis of geographic locations of user, origin of that webpage and content delivery server.

Cloud computing is just using a huge computing resource (typically processing power) into smaller chunks so that they can be used remotely. Therefore, resources are accessed and stored across the internet and not just hard drive of your computer.

CDN is group of "disks" which are spread across the globe in various data centers. You just upload file to one of the disks - and then simply inform where your clients are coming from. What it does is then copy same file to other disks, which are closer to the customers. This gives the visitors a much faster user experience. Therefore, the end users get high performance together with high availability. Therefore, CDN is not similar to cloud computing and both are totally different concepts.
