Cloud computing is a process, which involves use of many different services. It involves services such as, serving as a platform for development of software, servers, software and storages. These services are executed over the internet. This setup is also known as the "Cloud".

Cloud computing is generally used by the organisations for increasing their capacity or the functionality of Information Technology applications. Cloud Computing relieves the users from the burdens of having to add software or skilled personnel, for their IT requirements.

Types of Cloud computing-

Cloud Computing Is Mainly Divided Into Four Types:

1. Infrastructure as a Service or IaaS

This is the base level of Cloud solutions. It refers to Cloud based computing infrastructure as a completely out sourced service. Infrastructure as a Service offers managed hosting services and development of environments. It reduces the user’s total cost of ownership and provides access to enterprise grade resources of IT and infrastructure.

2. Platform as a Service or PaaS

It is more advanced version of Cloud computing. PaaS offers computing platform and the solution stack as a service. PaaS is of use for the companies, those are involved in developing, testing, collaborating and deploying Cloud solutions, which are meant for particular applications.

PaaS is a low-cost type of Cloud computing, as it does not need investments in software or hardware. PaaS creates a strong supportive community that offers their help to the team of developers.

3. Software as a Service or SaaS

This type of Cloud computing provides fully functional web-based applications to its users, whenever they make a demand for it. These applications are meant for businesses and includes web conferencing, time management, CRM, project tracking, ERP, E mail, etc.

SaaS offers rapid scalability, access through internet from any location, custom level services and package of maintenance and technical support.

4. Recovery as a Service or RaaS

Recovery as a Service helps its users to replace all of their backup, archiving, solutions for business continuity and disaster recovery. It is a single and integrated platform. RaaS provides protection to its users and helps them to recover entire data centers, servers and operating systems.
