Transport Layer Security is abbreviated as TLS, a successor of the Secure Sockets Layer protocol, or SSL. TLS provides secure communication over the internet for the activities like email, internet faxing and other data transfer processes. It ensures privacy, integrity and protection for data which is transmitted between different nodes on the internet.
TLS prevent the transmitted files from being eaves dropped, or from data infringement. It is used for secure communication and used to secure web browser, Web servers, VPNs, database servers and more.
Transport Layer Security Protocol Involves Two Different Types of Sub-Protocols:
TLS Handshake Protocol- It enables the client and server to authenticate and use an encryption algorithm before sending the information.
TLS Record Protocol- This protocol is responsible for the secure and reliable connection. It works on the top of the standard TCP protocol. It renders data encapsulation and encryption services to transmit or receive data.
