Zenphoto is a stand-alone CMS (content management system) for the gallery focused websites. It supports images, video and audio formats. Zenphoto is most suitable for the self-hosted websites and professionals like artists, designers, illustrators, photographers, musicians and film makers. The CMS offers a fully integrated news section and custom pages to run complete websites.

Zenphoto is an easy to use CMS that offers all the features that a user may require. It allows uploading of files and folders via the administration or via FTP. It allows, Watermarks, scheduled publishing, automatic sizing of images, drag and drop metadata support. The CMS allows moving, copying and renaming of albums and images. Visitors have the authority to post comments, give ratings, mark photos as favorites. RSS feed can be customized and generated for individual images or albums.

Zenphoto offers multi-lingual support. Chinese, Hebrew, German, Japanese, French, Polish, Spanish, Swedish and several more. The CMS supports formats like jpg, gif images, html,.txt, .pdf,.pps and many others. Zenphoto allows the users to create their own website designs, offers customizable theme engines, individual theme translators, object model framework for advancing and flexible theming. There are several plugins included that come with both front-end and back-end filters.

Zenphoto was originally designed in November 2011 by a team of developers and released as a free and open source CMS under the GNU license. It can be installed from the homepage in .ZIP or.TAR.GZ format and the folder can be saved on the system hard drive. The CMS is designed to run on an Apache server and requires PHP version 5.2 or above and MySQL 5 or later versions. It is also compatible to PostgreSQL and SQLite databases.
