Zettabyte

Zettabyte is a measurement unit of the computer memory storage continuing on from megabyte, gigabyte, terabyte, petabyte, exabyte etc. Each zettabyte is equal to 1024 exabytes or a billion terabytes. It is 2 to the power of 70 power bytes or about 10 to the power of 21st power bytes.

The cycle of conversions goes this way- 100 megabytes is equal to 1 gigabyte(GB). 1000 GB equals 1 terabyte (TB), 1000 TB equals 1 Petabyte (PB),1000 PB equals 1 exabyte (EB) and now 1 zettabyte (ZB) is equivalent to 1000 exabytes.

The memory capacity has been increasing with the rise in the internet traffic. It had been presumed a few years back that there would be a change in the trend of internet usage with more and more people using their mobile phones to access the net and the content would be more in the form of videos. One zettabyte has the capacity to store 250 billion DVDs.
