End User Computing

End user computing (EUC) is a term used to identify the people for whom a product has been designed. It differentiates this group from the others like the ones who program, service or installs the product on to the computer. Programmers and developers working on the computer are not considered as end-users.

It implies that the end-users are not experts or computer professionals and have a lower understanding of the computing tools. End user computing can have different meanings depending on the context in which it is used. It refers to people using the computing tools without any professional help or use the complex computing as a solution for their business needs without assistance.

The advantages with EUC include- bringing down of work load of computer professionals, generates advantages over competition as it reduces wastage of time and enables effective usage of IS (information services). It allows them to join the computing environment allowing them to attempt create programming applications.
