The process of managing the operation, maintenance, versioning, and upgrading of an application all through its life cycle is known as Application Management (AM). It is an enterprise-wide IT governance approach oriented towards offering an optimal and effective application performance benchmark for users while incorporating IT and business segments with different AM objectives.
There are three Application Management processes – Application Lifestyle Management, Application Portfolio Management, and Application Performance Management. Then, there are three main stakeholders of AM. First are the application owners. These are business executive personnel who look at AM in the light of features such as business productivity, control, and revenue.
The second are the developers or managers of the application. These are the key IT enterprise personnel behind the development, deployment, and maintenance of the application. The last are the application users. They measure AM on the parameters of privacy, versioning, security, and the overall control of application processes and modules.
