Virtual hosting is the act of using remote hosting service providers for hosting websites and applications and encompasses many IT services which are deployed and run from remote servers. It refers to a method for hosting many domain names on one server or many servers. So, a single server can share its resources like disk space or memory without all of these services being provided to the same host. Virtual hosting therefore refers to provision of web hosting services to companies or individuals where the clients do not have to buy or run their own servers or connections to the web.
The virtual hosting provider is the Internet space provider and called a hosting company; some providers allow customers to gain more control over their site file systems, passwords and email accounts. When a client wants a server, some providers allow it to rent one at the location of the provider. When the client can place their own equipment's at the location, it is referred to as Server colocation.
