Piwigo is a photo gallery software for the web. It is an open source freely available and easily customizable software built by an active group of developers and users. Licensed under GPL, it is written in PHP and requires MySQL database.

• Notifications: Visitors can search and get notifications by email or RSS Feed of news and updates.

• Web API: It has a user friendly API that can integrate well with other applications.

Piwigo was created and developed by Perrick Le Gall as a personal project in 2001 and called PhpWebGallery. Making use of the open source phpBB he started a community around the project and released the first version under the GNU General License in 2002. Piwigo2.8.2 is the latest version that was released earlier in 2016.
