A server room is secure place which is specifically constructed for storing and operating computer servers and components needed for its smooth operation. The server room is a part of the data center which acts as a place for operating physical servers lined up in different formations to serve the specific needs of clients. A data center may have a large number of server rooms for various types of applications and services that may demand high computing resources.
Server rooms are designed to deliver uninterrupted and redundant power supply and monitored by administrators to ensure smooth and seamless operations. It provides the operational and environmental resources needed to run enterprise class servers. Generally, a server room might include 10 to several hundred servers. The servers placed in the server room can all be accessed and managed through a central server administrator system. Most of the times, the administrative system is kept outside the server room.
