Cloud Backup is also known as Online Backup or Cloud Computer Backup. This refers to backing up of data to a remote, cloud-based server. It involves sending a copy of this data via a proprietary or public network to an offsite server. Usually, a third party service provider hosts this server and charges the client a fee on the basis of capacity, bandwidth, or the number of users.
These solutions enable the client to store their data or files on the internet using a storage service provider, instead of doing that locally on a physical desk like a hard drive or tape backup. Cloud backups usually include the software and hardware required to protect the data, like applications for SQL Server, Exchange, etc.
Most Cloud Backup subscriptions are on a monthly or yearly basis. Initially, this service was used mostly by individuals and home offices. But now it is also used by SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and large corporations to back up non-critical data. In the case of the latter, this serves as a supplementary form of backup. In the field of Cloud Backup India has many service providers that offer reliable and qualitative solutions that require minimum maintenance and upgrades.
