Cloud storage is a model where data is stored, managed and backed up through a cloud based remote access system. There are three distinctly different storage models for this type of storage. Public cloud services provide a storage environment that is shared by multiple tenants. This is supposed to be the simplest model of storage that is considered to be most suitable for starters and is befitting for those dealing with unstructured data.
The next is the private cloud setting where a dedicated environment that remains protected within the firewall of the organization is utilized for this purpose. Private environments are considered highly suitable for users who require a customized setup and more control on the data they store.
And finally we have the hybrid platform which is a combination of the two and includes at least one of each infrastructure. You will need to store actively stored and structured data in a private cloud environment and unstructured data can remain in a public cloud set up.
Choosing a cloud storage solution for you may not be just as simple. You will be required to evaluate your needs and select one that lives up suitably. Make sure you select your solution after a fair amount of deliberation.
