What are the Different Deployment Models?

Cloud computing is deployed in four models. Most of the individuals and organizations implement some form of the cloud as it reduces both capital investment and operational costs.

Public Cloud: Services are delivered over the internet to the public. The provider offers services and infrastructure to multiple customers. It is economical as it decreases capital overheads and operational costs as the costs are shared among users. Users can scale their resource capacity on demand.

Private Cloud: The services are like in a public cloud but are available to a single user in an environment that is secluded with a firewall. It gives access only to authorized users giving the clients more security and control over the data. A private cloud can be hosted internally within premises or externally with a ring-like fence.

Hybrid Cloud: It is a blend of two or more clouds and draws the best features from both. Users can increase the capacity. They host critical applications in a private cloud and non-critical applications in a public cloud.

Community Cloud: The cloud infrastructure is set-up exclusively for use by consumers belonging to a specific community. They have similar security concerns and common mission requirements.
