Softaculous is a software application installer with which one can install management systems automatically. The following steps describe how you can install WordPress using the Softaculous installer. You need not have any technical expertise or knowledge of coding while setting up the content management systems.
WordPress is the most popular and widely used Content Management System (CMS). It is simple to use and does not require any expertise in PHP or HTML. The installation process is quick and is done in a few minutes.
Login to your cPanel account. cPanel is the administrative dashboard that allows you to control over most of the functionalities of your website. Go to the software section and scroll to the Softaculous Apps Installer. Select "WordPress". Click on the "Install now" button. The Softaculous software normally offers the latest versions of all the CMS platforms. It means you will be installing the latest version of WordPress (In case, you want an older version, you must install it manually).
You must, next, fill in the details of your website settings.
Choose the domain name that you intend to install WordPress for from the drop-down menu. If you have only one domain name it will be displayed automatically. In the directory field, specify the root folder for the WordPress installation. In case you want to install in a sub folder, type the folder name. Input a username for your WordPress dashboard login and create an admin password for the dashboard login. It must be unique, strong and something you could remember. Enter a valid email address.
Once you have finished, scroll down and click on the "Install" button. Softaculous will do a quick check on the information you have submitted and will install the files on your server for WordPress.
You will soon get a Congratulations, you have Successfully Installed WordPress". You can view your installation in the "Current Installations".
